Thanks for the link way back ago on Harmony Korine’s deadpan, documentary film-”Trash Humpers”, friend. My post on “Trash Humpers”,  never seeped out of the concave scar dealt by the gobs of carnal footage–with all its mind jarring fuckery. That doesn’t mean I didn’t dig the film to the max thoroughly, because did I ever, kinda. But as you can probably detect with your urbane open-mindedness and all, not everyone can make it clap to this: 

So back at it again with his polarizing class of uninhibited genius(uhhh), Korine is releasing a new short film, “Act Da Fool”, for the men’s fashion label Proenza Schouler. 

“In a series of hazy 8mm vignettes, accompanied by a soft, lilting voice over, the girls skulk around schoolyards, spray graffiti, drink, smoke, pose and embrace, evoking the loneliness, confusion and overwhelming wonder of growing up. Korine himself puts a more defiant spin on the film: “It’s about girls who sleep in abandoned cars and set things on fire. It’s about the great things in life. The stars in the sky and lots of malt liquor.”

The site No Retrospective contains images of people doing stuff, and people capturing people doing stuff such as the shots above by Gia Coppola—which I believe to be for a music video. The ah-shit factor is that the images and works on NR fall far between monotone and hyper-fabulous. Really interesting stuff here.

Between 1980 and 1984 Bill Daniel shot around 12,000 images of basically every punk band that was touring through Austin, TX—Minutemen, Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Black Flag, Misfits, Husker Du, Circle Jerks… and all the Texas bands at the time, Big Boys, the Dicks, Butthole Surfers, Really Red, the Offenders, DRI, and MDC. 

Film tramp Bill Daniel is back in the van on tour with a new program of recently unearthed 16mm music films (mostly silent) featuring lost 1965 news footage of The Beatles, 1977 Avengers, and 1980 and Austin New Wave bands, and where possible, a one-night photo exhibit. It’s a compilation reel of music footage, projected on 16mm, mostly silent, of some rare celluloid gems from my collection, and has been seen by almost no one. None of the material has seen the light of Youtube. Most of this footage is truly “orphaned film” — abandoned, lost, found, and now presented raw without editing.

But if it doesn't hurt that bad, it doesn't hurt that bad. That sounds like something someone would've told me in Texas once. Also, was checking out the tour dates for Sonic Orphans and was truly let down to see the film hit every city that counts besides Philly. July 14, the film went through Pittsburgh, wtf. As luck would have it, etc. etc. you can simply contact the man with two first names here to beg for a screening in your city. Scoop seen on hamburger eyes, btw.
